Achieving net-zero is not just a technological challenge — it is a systems transformation. Through cutting-edge policy research and open-source modelling, we uncover the trade-offs, opportunities, and pathways that matter most for India’s energy and industrial transitions. Our work equips policy-makers, researchers, and decision leaders with the evidence they need to make bold, informed choices that stand the test of time.
We conduct policy-focused, multi-disciplinary research and modelling to shape India’s pathway to net-zero.
By working at the policy–research interface, we provide decision-makers with robust scenarios, trade-off analyses, and transition pathways that accelerate India’s sustainable energy and industrial transformation.
Our work applies systems thinking, life-cycle sustainability assessments, and data-driven modelling to develop sector-specific strategies that are evidence-based, inclusive, and implementation-ready.
What We Do
Policy Research & Analysis
Benchmark national and sectoral decarbonization roadmaps, embedding life-cycle thinking into policy frameworks.
Systems Modelling & Planning
Use open-source energy & climate models to project transition outcomes and assess the impacts of technology, policy, and market choices.
Critical Materials & Circularity
Map resource dependencies, assess supply chain risks, and identify opportunities for circularity.
Snapshots of Impact
We were incubated by the Clean Energy Lab in 2018 – an initiative by Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation and Indian School of Business (ISB Hyderabad) to support early-stage civil society organizations with big innovative ideas that can create research and evidence-based policy impact in India’s clean energy space.
MoU with TIIC – The TamilNadu Industrial Investment Corporation. 
Launch of IDEEA Opensource Model with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) & IIT-Roorkee.
